Skype – the “Privacy Authoriry” intervenes on secrecy

Through the public statement dated September 28th, 2015, the "Privacy Authority" asserts the principle according to which the employer can't control employees’ online and electronic communications carried out by using programs such as, for example, Skype.

Skype conversations must be considered protected by secrecy, principle granted at constitutional level. Therefore the employer can't install, in employees’ personal computers, any kind of software that allows him to visualize employees’ conversations carried out priory or subsequently their working time.
